PRESIDENT

Oversees and coordinates the work of the PTSA.  Presides at all PTSA meetings.  Serves as the official contact, communicator, & representative of the PTSA.

FIRST VICE PRESIDENT

Shadows the Current President in preparation for serving as President the following school year.  Serves as Teacher Grant Chair.

TREASURER

Tracks all PTSA funds and financial transactions/contributions.  Prepares annual budget, then shares updates throughout the year.  Pays all authorized PTSA bills/reimbursements.  Ensures taxes and required County & State reports are submitted by due dates, and maintains our insurance policy.

SECRETARY

Responsible for recording the minutes at all PTSA meetings, and then making them available for review & approval.

VP ADVOCACY

Coordinates the Advocacy initiatives held at Moore Square (Career Day Clothing Drive, Health Fair, College Fair, etc.).  Organizes visits from local government representatives.  Applies for grants that promote health & wellness.  Attends Quarterly WCPSS BAC Meetings.

VP COMMUNICATIONS

Coordinates all communication efforts for the PTSA.  Currently: Website, Facebook, Twitter, and a weekly Newsletter.  Serves as liaison for sharing Student Council information.

VP HOSPITALITY

Responsible for all Hospitality events throughout the year such as staff breakfasts and lunch, and coordinates appreciation days and Teacher Appreciation Week. Manages the Hospitality Budget.

VP PROGRAMS

Coordinates the Programs put on by the PTSA during the year: Reflections Art Contest (with help from Reflections Chair), Spelling Bee, Geography Bee, and the Cultural Arts visits throughout the year by United Arts Artists in Schools.

VP WAYS AND MEANS

Responsible for coordinating all of the fundraising efforts for the PTSA, primarily through the Annual Fund Fundraiser (determining timeline, creating & distributing materials, establishing marketing campaign, determining incentives, etc), Memberships, Spirit Wear Sales, Spirit Nights, and Passive Fundraising.

PAST PRESIDENT

The President from the previous school year stays on the PTSA Board for another year (if they are able) to provide guidance and expertise, and assist where they are needed.

CHAIR & COORDINATOR POSITIONS

FAMILY & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT CHAIR

Works with VP Advocacy

Fosters & builds community, ensuring that all feel welcome.  Helps to build positive relationships between teachers/staff and families.  Attends twice monthly Moore Square Community Engagement/Equity Committee meetings.

DEI CHAIR

SPECIAL NEEDS LIAISON

Works with VP Advocacy

Serves as the liaison for all parents of students receiving special education services (including those with IEP's or 504 Plans). Assists with ensuring that all students have the environment that will best promote their learning & are valued members of their school community.

REFLECTIONS CHAIR

Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Reflections Arts Contest at Moore Square.

MEMBERSHIP CHAIR

Works with VP Ways & Means

Plans annual PTSA membership campaign & promotes PTSA membership throughout the year.  Also responsible for collection of dues, and entering membership info into database.

SPIRIT NIGHTS CHAIR

Works with VP Ways & Means

Helps to discover Spirit Night fundraising opportunities for the Moore Square Community & coordinates these events.

SPIRIT WEAR CHAIR

Works with VP Ways & Means

Coordinates the sale of spirit wear items throughout the year, including sales at school events and online sales periods.  Also responsible for the distribution of items to students following sales, and selecting spirit wear items sold/pricing.

BUSINESS ALLIANCE CHAIR

Works with the VP of Hospitality to coordinate all of the many wonderful programs and opportunities provided by our Career Development Coordinator.

FAMILY ACADEMY COORDINATOR

Coordinates with WCPSS and school staff

Helps School Counselors to coordinate the quarterly Family Academy events, ensuring that food, volunteers & supplies are available.

FINANCIAL AUDIT CHAIR

Works with volunteer team

Responsible for the Annual Audit of all finances before tax filing.  Conducts a quarterly review of bank statements.

MOVING-UP CELEBRATIONS CHAIR

Works with school staff

A 7th Grade Parent, responsible for working with the 8th Grade Lead Teacher to coordinate the 8th Grade End of Year Celebrations (pizza luncheon, dance & Moving-Up reception).

NOMINATING CHAIR

Works with nominating committee

With the help of the Nominations Committee, responsible for identifying talented, motivated, and
responsible individuals to serve as officers of this local PTSA.

SPRING COMMUNITY EVENT CHAIR

The PTSA would love to add a community building event to the school's calendar.  We've batted around several ideas, but we need someone to take charge of this & help us implement it!  This is a great opportunity to really build something from the ground up!  Who has an exciting idea that they would love to bring to fruition?

TEACHER GRANTS CHAIR

Coordinates with school staff and PTSA

Establishes Teacher Grant form submission process, organizes & shares requests with Teacher Grant Committee, monitors the budget, and coordinates with teachers on procurement of approved requests.
